AstronomyDaily.com is filled with astrophotographs and other images that contain subtle shades
of color against the blackness of space. These images may not be enjoyed to the fullest if your
computer monitor is out of adjustment.
The color bar below contains five distinct shades of gray. Adjust your brightness and contrast
controls so that all five are clearly visible. The most common problem is monitors set too dark
so that the distinction between the two darkest shades is lost.
